Whenever I visit Disney's Epcot
I head to
the American Pavilion to hear
the wonderful
Voices of Liberty sing their
8 part acapella
folk and patriotic songs. The
group was started
by legendary vocal arranger Derric
Johnson
I knew their unique blend would
be perfect
to record some of my older arrangements.
I contacted Mr. Johnson and he
agreed to
work with me. I'm thrilled to
have some of
the best vocalists in the country
singing
my music and I'm sure you'll
enjoy it.
How is the Heritage Collection different?
The HymnCharts arrangements I've
selected
for the Heritage Collection are
some of my
older arrangements from around
2002. They
have a more blended, acoustic
feel. They're
more piano driven and many of
them modulate
on the last verse. You might
think of them
as a midway point between traditional
music
and the contemporary, guitar
driven worship
many churches have today.
The Heritage Collection marks
the first time
I've recorded a choir. Each arrangement
will
have:
SATB and piano
instrumental parts
transposed chord charts
vocal demo
accompaniment stereo track (no vocals)
split track (vocals on left, track on right)
choir parts MP3s (MP3s for soprano, alto,
tenor and bass)
The arrangements are recorded
simply - with
piano, acoustic guitar, drums,
bass, strings
and light orchestration.
